Easter Hotel Breaks
Back to When is Easter
Getting away at Easter is a tradition for many people. It is the first holiday of the year and is often taken as a mini-break of a long weekend. For most people an easter break is about contrasts, so many city dwellers go to the country, while country people head for a city break.
Another way to enjoy contrasts is a change of climate. In Europe lots of northerners head down to the Spanish and Italian beach resorts for a little sunshine, while easter is also a peak time for southerners heading north to visit British and Scandinavian Cities. North Eastern Europe (Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia in particular) also get lots of visits at this time of year. The easter ceremonials are particularly impresive in the Eastern Orthodox Church and In Russia, Ukraine and the Balkans, many thousands of visitors come to enjoy the insence and atmosphere that is particularly heady during holy week.
European City Breaks are therefore a great option for many people seeking something a little different to do at Easter time. Have you considered a trip to to hear the Pope's address from the balcony of the Vatican for yourself? Alternatively the easter break is quite simply a great excuse to head for the hotels in the sun and beat the winter blues. Whatever your choice, I believe you will enjoy the contrast from home.
