When is Lag B’Omer

Lag B’Omer is a Jewish holiday celebrated on the 33rd day of the Counting of the Omer, which occurs in the Hewbrew calendar on the 18th day of the month of Lyar.

Lag B’Omer 2015 begins in the evening of Wednesday 6 May.

Lag B’Omer 2015 ends in the evening of Thursday 7 May.

About Lag B’Omer

Lag B’Omer is a celebration of the anniversary of the death of the sage Rabbi Himon bar Yochai, author of the landmark text of Jewish mysticism – the Zohar.

It is a festive day marked with celebrations and outings. Bonfires are lit on Lag BaOmer eve and it is customary for children to go into the fields and play with imitation bows and arrows.
