About Lag B’Omer
Lag B’Omer is a celebration of the anniversary of the death of the sage Rabbi Himon bar Yochai, author of the landmark text of Jewish mysticism – the Zohar.
It is a festive day marked with celebrations and outings. Bonfires are lit on Lag BaOmer eve and it is customary for children to go into the fields and play with imitation bows and arrows.
